Frenchman Philippe Croizon completed a 2 year ambition to swim the English channel between England and his homeland France.

Philippe had his arms and legs amputated after an electrical accident.

Philippe Croizon lost his limbs after he was Electrocuted from a nearby power line while removing a TV aerial from a roof 16 years ago.

42 year Philippe Croizon completed his swim in 14 hours well below his estimated 24 hours and it is thought to be the fastest time for an disabled swimmer.

Philippe swam the channel with the aid of prosthetic legs that had flippers attached at the ends.

Mr Croizon said “that at no point did he feel he was not going to make it, despite pains and aches all over his body.”

Philippe Croizon’s father said his son had favourable wind conditions during his swim and had even had three dolphins swimming alongside him for a period, “a sign of good luck”.

Well done to Philippe, a true inspiration!
